We felt a strange disturbance in the Force when the first consignment of these wonderful characters arrived for testing at gadgetshop HQ. For there was something eerily realistic about dressing a plastic potato as an Imperial Stormtrooper, complete with laser masher for added authenticity (set to stun to spare the skin of the Princess, naturally). For there's simply no mistaking the somewhat startling news that Mr Potato Head has gone over to the dark side to become the ever-faithful, armour-clad henchman of Darth Tater. Indeed, it took our colleague Geoff some while to accept this as hard fact. But he took it like a man in the end.Now, with the Jedi in retreat and Tater's shock troops – and potatoes – spreading out across the Galaxy with mashers at the ready, few can stand in their way without fearing a dashed good chipping. And, when the fun has been had and the Rebel Alliance crushed, the Spud Trooper's many parts and accessories stow neatly inside his potatoey body. Which is thoughtful of him. Beware. The Force is strong in this one.
